Anti Piracy Barrier
ISS have been at the forefront of the design and development of Anti-Piracy Barriers which deliver a passive anti-piracy deterrent. This innovative approach provides an enhanced barrier around the upper deck of a vessel as an effective alternative to the more commonly accepted practice of rigging razor wire defences. Razor wire can be difficult to rig, is easily damaged and can cause injury to the crew - it can also be overcome by use of a simple thick blanket. Our Anti-Piracy Barriers remove these weaknesses with a simple, durable and highly effective solution.

The best defence against pirates is to prevent them getting on board - if that happens, the attackers are effectively in control of the vessel. What was needed was a system that was not only visually daunting but would also remove the ease with which they are able to gain access to the deck, either by means of cat ladders or grappling hooks.
Developed in consultation with the shipping industry and the maritime security sector its composition offers long-life and exceptionally high UV resistance, despite its simple appearance. Its design and shape has proved highly effective against pirate groups attempting to board using cat-ladders or grappling hooks, and has been installed on a the fleets of several blue chip shipping companies.
Not only is the product cost affective it is also totally safe for the crew and dockworkers to use - no more badly cut crew members needing medical attention who are then carrying scars for life trying to protect themselves. These Barriers are fully recyclable. Any units broken or damaged can be recycled and reused, and even at the end of their long life span they can still be recycled to make other products.
NEMESIS 5000 (BOARDING DETERRENT SYSTEM)
Ocean Kinabalu and its partner, Infinite Security Solutions (ISS) is Asia's Representative for the revolutionary Nemesis 5000 Anti-Piracy (Boarding Deterrent) System. There are a number of threat responses currently being employed i.e. Vessel hardening, Armed or Unarmed security solutions, Razor Wire etc. neither of which on their own, or in combination, have proven themselves to be full proof.
The Nemesis 5000 however, offers a practical and comprehensive security solution to the ongoing piracy threat. The system supplies a High impact water jet curtain around the perimeter of the vessel. Water velocity ranges from 143 to 151km/hr. It uses available utilities (hydraulically operated from Fire Main), is easy to install, operate and maintain, functions automatically (alleviating any risk to crew) whilst giving 360˚ vessel protection.
LONG RANGE ACOUSTIC DEVICES (LRAD)
The LRAD was initially specified for Military Maritime Operations but its applications have now diversified. Long Range Acoustic Devices (LRADs). The LRAD is a revolutionary high-intensity directional acoustic array device for precise audio targeting which can be integrated with other solutions such as cameras and sensors (motion monitors, radar etc). It is also easily integrated with a software control interface. The vision and positioning system allows users to locate, communicate with and deter specific potential threats over extended distances.
Applications for the LRAD are only limited by ones imagination. Currently they are used for Anti-Piracy, Safety and Crowd Control, Maritime applications (including the Oil & Gas Industry, Port Facilities and Terminals, Vessels and Yachts) to name but a few.
REMOTELY OPERATED VEHICLES (ROVs)
Ocean Kinabalu ROVs are compact, light weight with excellent manoeuvrability. This miniature ROV is frequently used as a Security Inspection and Survey Tool for Maritime applications such as Port Facilities, Ship Hulls, Pipelines, Oilrigs and Water Locks/Dams etc.
ROVs are used in the Maritime Security field worldwide as a cost-effective solution to using divers or, further still, a safe alternative where dangerous conditions do not permit the use of divers.

STANDALONE COMMUNICATION UNIT
BMP (Best Management Practices) recommends "self contained, independent, reliable 2-way external communications" to be used in Secure Location/Citadel onboard vessels transiting the High Risk Area.
Our partner, Infinite Security Solutions (ISS) has developed a standalone Communications Unit for crews to use from the confines of a Secure Location / Citadel during a boarding or hijack situation.
The fully functional Communications Unit contains:
- GPS Plotter for emergency navigation
- VHF radio for ship-to-ship communications
- A Satellite Phone for secure worldwide communications
All components are fully CE approved. Our portable, standalone, Communications Unit is designed to comply with the requirements as laid down by industry best management practice for a Secure Location / Citadel communications solution.
